KOZHIKODE: The National Development Front (NDF) has said the rout of UDF candidates in the byelections from the Koothuparamba and Azhikode Assembly seats was because of Muslims voting against the Oommen Chandy Government.
The NDF supreme council said here on Tuesday that Muslim voted against the UDF candidates to protest against its attempts to sideline the Narendran Commission recommendations on special recruitment for minorities and backward communities.
The council, after reviewing the election results, expressed the view that the Chandy Government was under pressure from forward communities not to implement the report.
