NDF reassures its commitment to Muslim Personal Law Board Print E-mail
Wednesday, 13 October 2004
KOZHIKODE:

All India Muslim Personal Law Board,It is NDF's declared stand to cooperate with the common forums from local to national level. Cooperation with forums like Personal Law Board, All India Milli Council, and Muslim Majlise Mushawara is part of the stand. NDF has a special commitment to Personal Law Board as it is a forum which actively intervenes in issues like the Babri Masjid and common civil code,'' the release from NDF general secretary Nazarudheen Elamaram said. Though the Board was formed in 1972, representation from Kerala was limited to the presence of Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait and former State Ameer of Jama'at-e-Islami T.K. Abdulla.
It was only two years ago that NDF chairman E. Aboobacker and Jama'at-e-Islami Ameer K.A. Siddiqe Hassan became members of the Board. NDF leaders P. Koya, E.M. Abdurehman and K.M. Ashraf had participated in the meetings of the Board as special invitees. Aboobacker has been regularly participating in all the meetings of the Board, the release said. The National Development Front (NDF) is greately concered about the kerala unit of an organization which is trying to obstruct the ensuing meeting of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), to be held at Manjeri in December. This organisation, which has representation in the Board, has been making secret moves to drag NDF's name in the controversy.
