The National Development Front (NDF) has decided to
petition the Marad Judicial Inquiry Commission to investigate the
activities of organisations, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
(RSS), that is involved in many criminal cases in the
state. Addressing a press conference at Kozhikode on
Tuesday, NDF chairman E.M. Abdurehman, and supreme council members E.
Aboobaker and A. Saeed said NDF was expecting justice from the
judiciary in view of the unholy nexus of the RSS, some
police force and media persons to defame the NDF. Some media
wanted poeple to believe the investigation centred on
the NDF, but the truth is that NDF is not a party of the incident. |

Rich become smarter NDF supreme council consider the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Government of Kerala and Dubai Internet City in its current form is against state's interests. As per the current MoU, Kerala government will provide 62.72 acres of land in the commercial city of Kochi for a lesser price while 236 Acres will lease to DIC for a long term. In return, the state may benefit only 33,000 jobs and a tiny share of 9%. The proposed Smart City project based in the port city of Kochi, will be a 'no laymen zone' and It will be hard for deprived or backward section of the state to find jobs in such free zones. NDF supreme council recalled the statistics from India's prestigious technical institutions known as IITs which merely served the upper class interests and the international corporates instead of Nehruvian wish for national interests. NDF requested the state government to follow a competitive model based on our own assets, resources and social fabric. The current MoU will not help to build social justice in this exclusive zone, as the state laws related to working hours, minimum wages, backward class reservations, etc will not be applied in the proposed Smart City Project. NDF demanded more funding and technical assistance to the state owned C-DIT(The Centre for Development of Imaging Technology), which is currently striving for governmental help. C- DIT had established credentials in information technology by offering many open source softwares like NILA. The Government should utilise the potential of state institutions like C-DIT for mass expansion of Information technology by offering more and more open source softwares in regional language. Even the Government of France itself engaged in developing and offering free open softwares like AGORA to foster interoperability of web content and functionalities across government. French government is going to replace Microsoft, under a Project ADELE, a plan to computerize much of the country's administration by 2007. Such visionary attempts from politicians will generate more employment and self sufficiency to the state, NDF supreme council said. |
